Numbers 12:3 says, “Now Moses was a very humble man, humbler than anyone else on the face of the earth.” It is important to remember that Moses was not humble when he killed the Egyptian. God used the next 40 years in Midian to teach him humility.
Becoming a humble servant is an ongoing process for me and likely for all of us, but it is important to keep taking small steps in that direction.
Peter, with his usual passion, declared that he would die for Christ before later denying Him three times. In Matthew 26:41, Jesus reminds us, “The Spirit is willing but the body is weak.” Understand that you may fall short at times, but just as Jesus restored Peter, He will restore you if you remain humble.
The result: We see Moses lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and toward the Promised Land, and Peter boldly proclaim the truth of the Gospel, leading thousands to come to know Christ. What joy that must have brought them both. That same joy can be yours.
