He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10)
Most of us live in a very loud environment. And, when things quiet down we make our own noise with our electronic devices. This should not be!
Often Jesus went to quiet places to be alone with His Father, our Father. It is written in Mark 1:35, “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
How is your alone time with God? Are you still? Do you hear His voice? Do you spend time every day in a solitary place? How much time to you spend in that quiet place with God? Is He exalted as a result of your thriving relationship with Him?
In a world full of noise, we must be quiet and alone with God. And, we must teach others to do the same. Certainly, we can have much better communications with Him when we are in the quiet, solitary place.
Be a disciple who lives many hours every week alone with God. Model the behavior to those you disciple.
