In the final months of 2023, I faced immense loss—loved ones, my unborn child, and my job—but God used that dark time to transform me. By 2024, He revealed a greater purpose, leading me to minister to young men as a basketball coach and disciple-maker. Through this journey, I’ve learned that following Christ requires sacrifice, but God’s infinite strength sustains me, as A.W. Tozer’s quote reminds: “An infinite God can give all of Himself to each of His children.”
The Network 20 movement has greatly encouraged my walk with Christ. Emails from Gary Network 20 Executive Director and updates on Facebook about brothers nationwide pursuing discipleship inspire me to press on. It echoes Apostle Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 11:1: “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ,” challenging me to live a Christ-centered life and model faith and character, even in trials.
In 2024, I mentored young men through a basketball academy ministry, where training sessions became meaningful discipleship. By listening, understanding, and praying for them, I witnessed God transform lives as some abandoned destructive habits like drugs and alcohol to follow Christ. Their commitment to discipleship has been humbling and inspiring, reminding me of God’s power to bring lasting change through intentional investment in others.
Regularly following the Network 20 Facebook page has profoundly influenced my approach to disciple-making. The dedication of brothers in Christ nationwide inspires me to stay consistent and committed, reminding me that disciple-making is a lifelong calling. Their stories encourage me to trust God to use me as an instrument to help others grow in faith.
