I do not appreciate hearing disciples of Jesus use the word “mentor” in place of the word “disciple.” Jesus discipled young men. He didn’t mentor. Generally speaking, mentoring is all about focusing on growing someone personally or professionally. It’s all about the person, not about Jesus.
We must NOT focus on ourselves. We MUST focus on Jesus.
Jesus didn’t focus on himself as a person. He focused on His Father. Neither did Paul focus on himself; he focused on Jesus.
We, Network 20 disciple-makers, out of love and dedication to God, imitate Jesus. Think 12 disciples. Also, we look to Paul as a premier disciple-maker. Think Timothy.
Jesus and Paul discipled to change the world!
Stop focusing on yourself. Stop building up another person through mentoring. Focus on Jesus. Disciple!
Nearly everywhere in the world young men are under-reached. Today Network 20 is THE disciple-making movement that serves men in the church who disciple their young men so that the local church thrives and the Kingdom of God expands. We give glory to God for the opportunity to build His Church!
We disciple to change the world!
