A message from our Executive Director

Jesus was always communicating with His Father. Also, we must teach those we disciple to ongoing communicate with God.

When asked how to pray, Jesus is quoted as saying “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

In his book “Inside The Lord’s Prayer: 5 Prayers God Loves to Answer Bringing Deeper Joy in Your Life,” author Larry Selig writes that there are five prayers within the Lord’s Prayer, which help us more fully understand God’s will. Following are those prayers.

One: Father, help me learn who You are so I can know and worship you. Two: Father, show me how to assist You in restoring Your Kingdom here on earth. Three: Father, show me the difference between my needs and wants so I can trust Your provision, and have enough to share with others. Four: Father, help me forgive others so I can be forgiven by You. Fifth: Father, help me resist temptation by either avoiding it or by finding a way of escape when it stares me right in the face.

Let’s follow the example of Jesus! Let’s pray for a fuller understanding of God’s will and teach those we disciple to pray that way too.
