We equip young men to be fully committed disciples of Jesus! This month’s equipping series, titled “Jonah’s Story,” is written by Victor Lal. In the first of four lessons, Victor focuses on the topic of “Listen.” He gives the below insight.
In this modern time, we miss living in God’s presence and listening to Him. We are conditioned to think instantly instead of taking things slow. We do not allow ourselves to take time to listen to God’s voice. In the story of Jonah, we read that he did hear God’s voice, but his response was not what God wanted.
God created us to listen to Him, worship Him, glorify Him, and love Him. Unfortunately, we have forgotten the importance of listening to Him. We must remember that one day we will be in front of God’s throne and be held accountable for our deeds. Surprisingly, we tend to ignore the reality that this earthly journey can end at any time. We must listen and respond well throughout the journey!
A life without a close fellowship with God, including listening to Him, is a wasted life.
Let’s listen to God!
